I'm just getting myself together a kit of spare nuts and bolts, but I'm trying to work out the terminology and materials.
For starters, does anyone know what the hell the OEM bolts are made from?
Are they a stainless steel alloy or chrome plated steel alloy, or something else?
Secondly, what types of bolts are they?
Most I have seen are what I would call Allen bolts (/Socket Cap) or else Flange bolts (/Hex Washer), does anyone know of more common names for these type of bolts?
Thirdly, size wise they seem to be M5, M6 and M8 (with only the odd exception), with M6x1.0 (ISO M6 Coarse) being the most common. Lengths seem to vary from min 12mm through to about 60mm, with most being 20-35mm.
