As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!
Glad Cycle News is back in business.
I think the biggest news is they fully intend to produce Husqvarna road bikes:
"we want to manufacture sporty, road-oriented, perfectly engineered bikes"
"you will see a twin cylinder Husqvarna model quite soon, and we'll make some gorgeous looking, fast and fun Italian red road bikes"
http://cyclenews.coverleaf.com/cyclenews/20110426#pg53
Well, I sure hope the twin husky doesn't use the piece of junk clutch bmw/rotax put in my F800GS...
Check out this weeks interview with Hendrik Von Kuneheim. There is some interesting stuff regarding the future of Husqvarna. Looks like we will be getting scooter added to the line up, how about a diesel 511? Very smart man I have to say.
Gas reached almost $5/gallon a few years ago, scooters were extremely popular in this area, and well respected. I think there is a market, especially if they don't have the stigma of the existing brands.... even though it would cut down on gas, insurance, parking problems, total cost of everyday life but who is concerned over these trivial matters?

I took a test ride on a scooter to get a free mp3 player, I was quite embarrassed and did not want to go outside without my helmet.![]()
...He also used the term urban transportation ..., very good idea in EU maybe but bikes and bike riders are hated so much in the states, it it never fly too high in UR back yard ... even though it would cut down on gas, insurance, parking problems, total cost of everyday life but who is concerned over these trivial matters?
...The states in areas when the weather permits riding would benefit greatly from them ... The states just has a bad attitude on anything that saves gas and is a good time ...
