  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Those are such great bikes. Why don't they sell better ?

They don't seem to have enough advertising and exposure. A product doesn't seem to need to be the best to sell well, they just need to be promoted well.

Just like people don't buy small street bikes, they always think heck, a few hundred more i could have the 450 even though the 250 might just be a much better bike for them.

Its so tempting, but the 2010 has so many new features....Is there any way to get a taskys bike into canada? Or would it have to be sold to someone and then sold to me as a used bike?

I know where you can get them for $5999 CDN with free shipping and no border hassles.

Dirt bikes are easy to get into Canada, heck they would probably deliver it to the border.

I bought one of them from Jeff last Friday. Will be here a week from today. I can't wait to get this bike. Shipping was about 300. I bought this over the phone from the other side of the country, easiest new bike transaction I have ever made. Tim

I guess that would depend on what you wanted to do with it once you got it here....

In addition other reasons mentioned, for those that do know Husky's and want a 250.........this next statement I'm sure is a major factor

Uhmmm where, where, where is the real issue. You want a bike that you never register and don't require insurance and thus only ride on closed circuits then give'r. You want to properly register it then it is a little more difficult.

I believe they have sold many bikes to Canada, no issues. Call Jeff at Taskys and ask. He is EZ to deal with.

Certain provinces are getting tougher to register a bike that was imported from the USA.

The $5999 CDN price is basically the same as $4999 US once you take into consideration the fees that Can Customs charges with a lot less hassles. A TXC250 that is sold by a CDN Dealer has a lot better chance of being street titled than one that was imported from the US is what DB was eluding to.

$5,999 delivered to your door in Canada is a smoking good deal. Wish I could justify one more bike in the fleet, that extra gear and e-start sure would be nice!

Exactly....and at $5,999 are you kidding me?? Where else can you get a bike this good brand new for that price. Hell for about $1k more you could have a TXC310 delivered to your door from Scott. And for another $200 you can have a lighting system on the bike....so for $7,200 you can have a new TXC310 with lighting system. Now that is a deal!!!

Are the TXCs green sticker or red in CA?

Do they do ok in motocross? I have a KTM 250 XC-F and it's great for trails but doesn't handle jumps well at all. I do probably 50/50 trails / MX
