  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Any one ever see a rear sprocket with more then 52 teeth I am running 12/52 on the 165 and still could use a lower gear set for KOM I tested yesterday with my old Wr 250 geared 13/52 it was almost perfect just so much heavier then a 165

You can order whatever size you would like from sprocket specialists, I think it is a 5 day turn around for stuff above 52T, but they go up to 70 I believe.

I had originally checked their website, but noticed that they didn't have any sprockets listed for the Husqvarnas. So it would take a bit longer for them to get the dimensions and make the sprocket.

Did some research and going from a 52 to a 53 really would not see much of any gain. So for KOM it looks like it will be 12/52 again on the Walt smith 165 I rode a lot of the course this weekend with a Wr 250 that I geared 13/52 that was really good but it is just so much heavier then a 165 So looks like it is 165 again this year thanks for all the help and answers

original husky nr for a 54 sprocket is 8000 H6353

I've got the nr from my SMS 125 manual.

I did run 12-50 on my WB165

with the SMS (future165) I would consider it harder as the gearbox is spaced out further need to check it out how it works out on the rear wheel and spinning out on asphalt

They have them you just have to ask. The husky rear sprocket # is 178 followed by the number of teeth. So you could get a 178-56 if you like.

Well, then their website search tool is not working properly. I typed in the information and no match was found.

Not sure on the Husky smallbore, but most bikes run into clearance problems with the chainguide/blockwhen going over a 52t. Some basically won't fit, while some will fit but the sprocket diameter causes the chain to pull downward off the guide, causing drag and undue wear on the chain and the guideblock. Anyone here actually tried one?

The can be true, but you can run the enduro roller style chain guide that would accomadate the larger sprockets.
