• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Big Dave's troubles on the Kato 500.

Sounds like the power delivery is too abrupt at lower speeds. I can attest to that making tighter situations much more difficult than they need to be.

Staying pretty calm there, but...... I bet he's had a few helmet throwing fits about it. I'm pretty sure DK was like "WTF" when Faroli told him he'd hired Nambotin and he was riding E3!:busted:

Maybe this is why he was out there saying my bike sucks and no body can fit it? ... sniffle... sniffle ....

The thing about WEC is that its a short series and a couple of off podiums and your championship hopes are dead (Big Dave is out of the running all ready this year). Nambo has it in the bag.
Husky needs the new 2 strokes back in the game.
Huskys aint lookin good for championships this year as well.

Agreed! I'd love to see a DFI 300. :D

I take from the interview that the 500cc KTM is a handfull even for David who is just as strong as an ox, it would seem to me that the ideal size 4-stroke would be around 350 or 310. The WEC is a whole different world than the WORC or Hare and Hound we have because they don't reward brute force. It needs to be expanded a couple of more races at least one in England and another in the USA. Anyone would agree after watching Paul Edmondson win world titles on 125cc, that it's still how long you can hold the throttle open. I thought about this when the 511 husky came out and using it to trail ride or in our local series. They are cool but just too much for a long race,i would agree that the 2-strokes i have are a liittle old compared to the Gas Gas but it gets the job done quite nicely. The only reason KTM 2-strokes are [supposed] better is because some guy in a Mag said so, no other reason at all. Take a 300cc WR put Letti from Germany on it and bingo it works or give it to the Magazine class and they will nit-pick. Anyway David Knight and I have something in common after all and that is neither of us can get on the podium with the Big Katoom. Otherwise that guy is totally a machine, wow. That whole class of riders in the WEC are so technically correct it is amazing. I'll look forward to a newer version 0f the WR's to run with them next yr. Bring back bean oil......

Bean oil story, one of our crew always adds a hint of Maxima 927 into his premix to treat us to that aroma as we follow him on the trail. Sure smells better than all the new stuff.
