• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Bench Mounted Engine Stands

Viva l'Husqvarna d'Italia!
I have a couple of spare engines (2006 610 and 2009 CR125) sitting in my garage and I want to put them on display in my house. Been shopping around for a bench mounted rotating engine stand and I thought I would share what I have found. These stands look pretty easy to build but I don't have the welding skills or tools to do it my self.

First we have the megabucks KTM Engine Stand which looks similar to this stand...

The actual KTM stand sells for well over $1000 new. The stand pictured above sells for quite a bit less $$$ but is sold in Australia. More info here... http://www.dirtbikeworld.net/forum/showthread.php?t=97138

Next we have a similar stand from Greig Racing in the USA. Couldn't find price info on their website, http://www.greigracing.net/products/e-stand.html

Here is another well thought out design from steelshoe at Rampant Racing, http://rampantracing.com/index.html

This stand looks pretty versatile and appears to take up less bench space. This one sells for $150. Not sure if it is beefy enough for the 610 engine.

I need to do some more looking around but the Rampant Racing stand looks like it is at the top of my list right now.
