• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Baja 1000 will be showing on NBC this morning! 10am on the west coast, 1pm eastern.

Yeah, yeah, I know it'll probably be a cheesy show filled with car stuff, but if everyone tunes in and can show the powers-that-be that there really is a market for this stuff, maybe we'll get more programs like it in the future. That's what happened with MotoGP. We got a few GP's on regular TV this year so, who knows? Maybe we'll get more next year.

It is everyone's patriotic duty as loyal dirtbikers to tune it...so do it!:D

The news around here is insane. They LOVE when we get a trace of snow :banghead: I can't believe they are covering the 1/2 of snow like an event. Goofy :censored:

A side car entre very cool****************************************

Random thoughts...

  • Sal Fish appears to be getting younger, not older.
  • Steering dampeners seem to be well liked.
  • Pretty amazing how fast the fuel goes into the bikes.
  • It appears the trophy trucks suspensions are getting even better based on the footage.

I am not a baja rally/raid guy (have raced in baja a bunch of times tecate style daylight races) but have ridden with a few guys with their baja headlights on at night ,,,those things lite up a whole dang valley!! I don't think you could even see the a helmet light beam over those sick headlights,,,,but Helmet lights are certainly a great back up to have for sure. Baja 1000 /500 race guys,,need to check in on this one!! R

Saw it last night....in HD!

How many time's did they say LR's name?
I lost count at like 300.

Good to see Coco still kickin' it at the finish.

Oh- BTW......

Anyone see the big blue/wt Husqvarna banner during the night at that check?

I did. Twice.

It didn't look like any of the top rides had helmet lights of any kind.
Wonder why?

I watched the last 1/2 of the show twice and had the same question. I've got the distinct impression things can go wrong down there & mistakes can be made.

I'll watch it again to catch the Husqvarna banner and see if I can see Coco.

LR = Larry Roseller, I think.

I need new eyes cause I just don't see it.
