  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Here's the story ..... 09 txc 250 riding it since 2010 never any problems. 2013 I did a 310 kit and rode it till a few weeks ago when it started backfiring a little bit. Took it out again and it got worse so I did a top end gasket and rings along with readjusting valves that where still in spec. I cleaned the carb twice and change the air filter. Its still doing it. My question is does a 09 te 310 FI have the same electronics? Just want to try swapping thing to check before throw the thing off a cliff.

Maybe pull out the fuel pump and make sure the filter and hoses are not leaking too.

Might be a good time to change the fuel filter.

I just replaced the exhaust gaskets and to check the intake boot I buttered it up with RTV silicone.

well, you didn't indicate if the "butter" helped... so I'm guessing no? btw, the standard vacuum leak test is a quick, discrete spray of carb cleaner in the suspected area while the bike is running. an slight increase in rpm's indicates a leak. be cognizant of where the closest fire extinguisher is.

good luck.

You can also use a propane torch. Just use the tip of the torch around the boot without firing the torch up. What kind of plug is in the side of the head where the air injection is supposed to go? I'm not sure if the TC/TCX used a brass nipple like the TE's did.

No it didn't it's still doing it. So it's not the boot. I did spray the carb cleaner starting at one side of the carb at the bottom and worked my way up. It's somewhere on the right side top. It's driving me nut. So I took off the slide cover and put RTV around that gasket , let it dry and tried it today. Still doing it****************************************! Going to order a rebuild kit and go from there. Maybe I have a small crack in the carb or ......... I'll keep everyone posted. My clubs Enduro is this weekend so ill be arrowing with the TE. Had to take all my computer and GPS off the TXC and Put it on the TE. WHAT A P.I.T.A

Not sure I will look tomorrow
