  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Backfire And Loss Of Power When Throttle Opened Up

Hey Guys

Very new to this so apologies if this is not the right way or place to do this. Just got back from riding my 2011 HUSQVARNA TXC250 today and found the bike was lacking power off idle and backfiring when I twisted the throttle. Barely made it back to the truck

I hope its nothing sereious but when filling up the tank I did break the nipple on the gas cap although I could still hear the little plastic bearing moving inside

Valves where done not long ago. Always fresh gas and clean filter

Is it possible be breaking the cap is starving the motor

Hi no this not starving the motor u have petrol filter before the pump
first try ... replace the TPS back on the timing chain... is the bike hot then normal ?

check the inlet valves too.. but a new petrol filter in.. if the the bike was used for a long time then maybe is time for a new injector too

My high hour 11 te310 acted like that last year after a wet trail ride. removed the gas tank for insp and found both of my coil wire harness wires had the insulation rubbed to the bare wire against the tank. also found my wire connector from my stator (i think) had overheated some time and melted and almost completely shorted out. cut that connector out completely and used good male to female blade terminals to repair. don't terminate them all the same or it may get confusing if all 3 (or 4) are disconnected at the same time. the harness on a old bike take a beating. Ran fine after wires repaired.
good luck!
