• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

ATK 406 update

I'll post this in my section so as not to pollute the general site with my ramblings. I upgraded the ATK some and had to report cuz there is little info on these bikes out there.

New con rod, shock rebuilt, pipe fixed and sealed, pegs uprighted, new Motoz, bars, handguards, light, amsoil in trans (really did help, no clutch needed). This very clean 406 example needed this love for a while. Runs great, rides nice, works fine. Fun bike. Huge bottom and mid and then just more vibs so shift! Ride it everwhere in 3rd. Fun tight trail / gnarly stuff bike. Low seat height, big flywheel, turns nice (Motoz rule) Interestingly I don't think I would like it much for open stuff. I like 4 strokes in the open stuff anyway.

blah blah blah...

I never rode one of these but there were several guys that had them in our association. This looks like something I would love. That low end torque and monster mid range sounds like the CR500 I had that I spent several years detuning to ride in the woods.:)

I have owned a few 480/500 CR's and currently own a KX500. This bike does not have as much power but similar powerband. Perfect for gnarly trails. It is also much smaller and more flickable feeling than the CR or KX 500's

I stare at one everyday at work there's one in the garage across the street, it's temping to go throw the guy an offer but I never do.

My dad had an ATK 604 and that thing was an animal. I was about 13 and could barely reach the foot pegs the first time I road it around some fields. After that little bit I never wanted to ride it again it was scary!

It's to bad ATK never was able to make a real go of it.
