  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

at the track and pos wont start!

Complete, will not start or hard to start? I had starting issues with my TC510 (but its carburated). Re-jetting and hints on how to fire it up easy (thanks MotoXotica, Dan). And I havent had trouble since.

Haha sorry heat of the moment I was posting from the hip! Lol I think I just need a new battery nothing big it just won't hold a charge above 10 volts! I was so mad though man I drove almost 2 hours and payed and it wouldn't start once I got there

So it was the battery that is the POS :D. Glad it was something so simple but it does suck to have it happen.

Odd that the battery would fail so soon...

They're expensive, but get a Lithium Iron battery like the Ballistic or Shorai. They hold a charge MUCH longer than traditional batteries. They're a lot lighter, too.

Should have jumped it off the truck, with the truck engine off

449 = no kick start correct?

No kick start on the 449/511/630, hence the reason I have a little booster pack built out of a 14.4V power tool battery:

The lithiums are so light you might think of carrying one in or on the bike somewhere (a backpack) as a spare. Jumper cables too.

ive noticed the(bosch dewalt and milwaukee) powertool batteries phazing out to ones that are about half the size now, pretty cool.

Jasonmt that's awesome! And I thought about jumping it with my truck off but I googled it and some said yay some said nay. The nay cost the guy 300 bucks to fix after he broke some stuff so i said nay. I'm looking into a shorai right now my birthday is coming!
