    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Seems myself, CH and Lectron are getting bad mouthed on other forums. I was not going to say anything but find it ridiculous.

Facts:

I tried two carbs. They both worked very nice. I knew nothing about these carbs before people sent them to me out of the blue to test (it is all there in print). Loved the APT, said so and spend hours writing glowing reviews after many miles testing it. Loved the Lectron. The Lectron has a dealer program, APT does not as I asked to get on it (which is completely fine). I really liked the guy from Lectron, the 35 years of history and testing. I signed up. It really is that simple. I did not do this maliciously nor did I ever intend to sell carbs. I really like the APT and hope them the best. There is room for everyone.

What I find ironic about all this is it is APT saying stuff and bashing Lectron, a company that they are largely using their technology. On the Other hand Lectron does not say a word, will not and don't care. They are having record sales (before all this APT stuff), will use the merits of their product and 30 plus years of history, testing and customers do the talking.

Again I wish no ill will on APT and think there product is fantastic, as I said over and over in my review. PWK's and TMX's as still to defacto carb and there are others as well. Competition is fine and will always be there. There are choices. It's all good.

This is getting real silly.

You did a good thing as per norm for you. Why is anyone bashing? You even did the old TMXX. If that didn't take in all candidates as an unbiased test. Mom said "never argue with an idiot" and dad said "water off a ducks back" alot. Parents are always right....just sayin. Keep flying the flag Kelly.

Thanks. Was not looking for a cheer squad just wanted to clear the air that I am not trying to evenhandedly upend the carburetor manufactures :D

If you are talking about the tt place, please don't sweat it ... The last time I was there, it was total idiot land, fat egos, some hidden agenda against the Husqvarna Company, and sounded like old women gossiping over someones' elses underwear like it was their business... And if not tt you are referring to, my words here are nice as possible on this topic and are still true ....

Carry on and you have no problems and do very well with all your posting here ... Best solution is to never sign in to that rathole place again and keep on, keeping on ...

Apparently Kelly and CH are doing something right ... Those guys aren't afraid of a little company like Husqvarna\bmw? ...
 
I really dont want or need to fuel the fires but it is at the GG forum. I have not been to KTMtalk in many years. Probably should not head over there :>)
 
KTM talk is bashing too. Mentioning Dean by name an insinuating a lot of other stuff. It reminds me of a 6 year old kid having a temper tantrum on the playground because the other kids aren't playing like he thinks they should. Pretty sad for a grown man... especially one who owns a carb company and wants to sell carbs. Alienating a bunch of potential buyers (me for one)... great marketing right there buddy... yessireee. :rolleyes:
 
Ah whatever. We all know he gives great reviews and sells great products. When I pick up the 449 I want a steering stabilizer just because his looks cool lol (sure it works great too). I'm excited to place an order.

I have to say though, you sound like a forum whore, I thought we were special here lol. KTM talk, TT, the GG forum and this Cafe. Who knows who else he's been with lol
 
Action not words. I'm glad to have met Kelly and provide entertainment to him and the crew by crashing my newbie ass when ever possible. Seriously, lots of keyboard heroes out there that likely have little experience and are much more suited to sniping other people's work and opinions. I have found his reviews and advice to be very accurate and as unbiased as he can be as a cheerleader for what he loves. I'm a better, safer rider because of his work. Thanks, man!
 
I have not been to the GasGas site, but what was on KTM Talk I think was directed more towards CH.
CH is very particular (from what I have heard) about members promoting product or events unless they are a sponsor. Apparently the smart carb guy was offended by this and decided not to be a sponsor. Kelly is a sponsor and I think he does his best to be unbiased but he is in business and he has gone through the proper channels.
