• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Applegate annual poker run - Willamina, OR Sun Aug 10th

I can't believe nobody's posted this, so it's a little bit late notice.

The Applegate RoughRiders MC (the club responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Upper Nestucca OHV Area 35 miles west of Salem) is holding our annual Poker Run on this Sunday, August 10th. Preregistration is now closed, entries are $30 per rider (non-riders are, as always, free).

We have a great course laid out for this year, which was a bit of a challenge due to trail closures from new logging operations in one end of the area. We have it at about 45-ish miles, with a fuel stop at 20 miles.

Sign in 8-9 am, rider's meeting at 9:15 sharp, ride starts at 9:30.

Please come out and have some fun with us!

This is always a great ride challenging course and very little road ,only as much as needed to cool down and connect the course and great folks ,prizes food fun .

Should be interesting this year with the logging going on through some of the old route. Rode most of the course a couple of weeks ago and conditions were epic. Heard there might be options for hard hillclimbs! So bummed I'm out of town!

Bill, you bringing any gasgas to try? I know someone who will be there whose in the market for one.

Yup, we've got at least a couple of hard/easy options. The easy options are intended mostly as an "out" for small-wheel bikes. One of the hard hillclimbs is short, but deliciously gnarly :)
