• Hi everyone,

    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

TE310 owners.... Check your lower welds for the foot peg mounts. After my wife hit a few rocks the lower weld broke and the peg fell off :eek:

We really didn't do much of the dash on Saturday, riding a bit of Orreflame Canyon, and also Canyon Si Nombre. The rest of the time was spent poking around various routes that we hadn't been on before. Sunday, I drove the EMT route and Jeff rode with the sweep team.

The event is always staged out of the Butterfield Ranch RV resort every year. A wonderful place to camp, with full hookups, a spa, swimming pool, bathrooms with showers, a grocery store, and a club house where we had the Saturday night meal catered for all the riders and event volunteers.

We didn't follow the course route. We ran that canyon backwards from the direction the event had it on the route, so we were there shortly after lunch, which we had at the campground. We only saw two other riders who were just starting that leg as we were finishing it.
 
That place is still there? When I was a kid my Dad's roofing company was contracted to re-roof all of the buildings there. Was good for us, as kids, because we got to go camping, swim and ride!

My thoughts on why they call Diablo drop off Heart Attack Hill! That's what could happen Walking up that hill a few times to ride more bikes down! :lol:

The places in your video snapshots are the Squeeze and the Drop. I don't think that the rocky little stepup in between actually has a name, but a lot of people call the Drop Heart Attack hill. Diablo drop is on another route that leads to the Mud Caves. It's easy enough to get down, but somewhat difficult to get up. I have actually seen a rider ride up the Drop before, but that is a feat that not many riders can boast about. Heck, I can't even ride down the darned thing any more. Not terribly fond of Fairchild Hill either.
 
Fun ride, one time was enough for me, glad it went well. I'm sure we will see lots of fotos. (did it on my 99 TE610) when there was alot of snow on the way over to the dez floor, epic scenery that day.)

I had my phone resting up against that window sucking up some Wi-Fi, a very nice lady told me she moved it to take a picture of that little camper. Could that have been you Ms. Dirt Dame????:cheers:
 
That was my first Desert Dash. I can't stop thinking about how sweet and moist the dirt was. Really had a great time and really glad I got to meet some people I have been talking to on line in person! Hi Kenneth!

Very nice to meet you and your friends! That new Gopro looks great! :thumbsup: Need More Videos :D I have about 5K Photos I need to sort out :rolleyes:

I forgot to tell you, I hope the last System configuration settings we loaded on your GPS was was yours :excuseme: My configurations would change your GPS name, Address, Wheel Size..... Opp's.

When are up for some Johnson Valley or Big Bear Riding?
