Why can't I be that damn lucky?

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.
When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.
Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.
Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.
Thanks for your patience and support!

what gas to oil ratio are you running?
Also are you running pump gas?
Vm 38 round slide carb with stock reed block? (not a Mossberger)
) As per Husky T's request I'm posting the factory jetting for the 430.
Mikuni 38mm.
Main...............430
Needle jet.......Q-8
Idle jet...........45
Needle pos......#4
Air jet............2.0
Throttle.........2.0
Needle...........6DH3
Air screw opening
from bottom...1.5
Hope that is helpful for anyone needing a base line to start from.![]()
I would start with the factory settings intially. I guess that Mossbarger is trying to keep the reeds from getting to loaded up (wet) at low speeds and make up the difference on the main which kinda of makes sense but every bike and riding condition is a little different so if you start form the factory settings and then make small adjustments you can evaluate weather or not it's an improvement.Does this jetting hold true with the Mossbarger reed block....??
I raced the '82 430 yesterday (15 Deg C at sea level) and she was not clean off the bottom at all.
I only know she has a 420 Main jet as I can't read the pilot, but I'm sure I read somewhere that the pilot should go down 1-2 and the main should go up 1-2 sizes when using the mossbarger ?
Any help appreciated
