• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Anyone tried these tube saddles?

seems like this was discussed before some body tried to order some and they were sold out it sure sounds like a good idea as soon as some good reports come in i think ill try one

Interesting and a good idea, but for $40 ea. I think I'll save up for Tubliss. Please let us know if you go for it.

Ordered one. Got it next day. Have not installed yet. Still have not decided on rear tire yet.

You can get a pair of both front 21" and rear 18"- "Nuetech Tubliss" complete set ups on Amazon for under $150.00. I did. I also got a spare set of front and rear bladders just in case for about $20.00. The Tubliss system works great. I run only 4 or 5 pounds in the rear tire all the time to the point of total tire destruction. Never had a failure and use only tire slime as lube to mount the Tubliss set up and the tire. I put plenty of slime squirted right into the sidewall before seating the bead. I use plenty of slime on the bead edge of the tire while mounting them up too. No soapy water anywhere in sight when mounting. A good coat of Plain old original formula "Armor All" sprayed on the outside on the tire bead a day before makes the tire go on easily. It works just as well as a good tire mounting lube if you are running tubes. I use only the Tire Slime only for lube to mount the tire itself.

No leaks, no flats, no bleed down, just check the pressure and ride. Going to mount another new rear tire this weekend. Its Cooling down and Drying up here now. Monsoon season and the rains are about over, So I'm Going from the 887 Sedona to a Sedona 907. I have a brand new spare 887 in the garage but I will save it for damper conditions when the Monsoons begin next spring and early summer. That tire last me about 30 hours of riding. That's it but they are also inexpensive. So I really don't care.

I've had S12 Michelins wear down and start throwing chunks and knobs in just 2 good days. On my other bike. So I bought a pair of rear Sedona 907s the other day for like $128 bucks. They have a stiff sidewall so should work good with the Tubliss. I'm changing tire size from the stock 110/100/18 to a 120/90/18. Just for a little wider footprint. For that price I can throw them out when they either get worn out. Or are about half way done and not even think twice or worry about it.

My stock rear Dunlop AT 81 on my 15 FE501 was shot in about 13 hours of riding and got trashed nearly immediately and they want about $100.00 bucks for a new one.

We'll see how many hours I get out of the 907 Sedona.

I run a GT 216 AA on the front at about 13lbs. with the Tubliss and can't say enough about that tires performance.
