• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

TE/TC Anyone here running the Lectro Carb?

If so, what size 36mm or 38mm...do you like it? Would you do it again? Did it clean up the bottom. My stock carb is not dialed in and I really don't know how to tell when I ride it if it's too lean or too rich which has me thinking the Lectron is good for someone like me. I know some of you really know how to listen/ride a bike and know "oh yeah I need to go up on the clip and drop the pilot down one size"

Should I just spring for the Lectron and forget about know the 3000 different needles and how they are tappered...

Please buy it and report back. Interested in performance and mileage. I'm on the fence because my carby is working well, the bike plain rips. However I would like to increase mileage. I'm going to install the larger IMS tank 3.2 gal I hoping with the lectron to get 75-85 trail miles out of a tank.

I ordered one yesterday. They recommended a 36mm VS a 38mm for my 300. I have the motion pro T3 slide light cable so they will modify the assembly to fit instead of buying their cable. The new reinforced float bowl assembly comes standard now as well. It should be here late next week. I was told I will need to cut the air boot back to fit the carb. I checked and a new boot is 36 bucks so it isn't too big of a deal if I need to go back to the Keihin in the future.

^ what was their reasoning for going with the 36mm?

I dunno, I'm carby illiterate hence the reason I ordered the Lectron. I asked and they said the 36mm power jet is best for a 300. I'm at or near sea level so that may have something to do with it?

the intake boot is 36mm on those models and going to a bigger carb does not really gain you anything.

Looking forward to Ride Review with Lectron installed. HINT-HINT.

I bought from Kelly. So whatever size he ships for the 2009 WR 250. It was super simple to setup. Added more bottom end grunt. I went from never being 100% in love with my jetting (even with a JD Jet Kit) to being 110% in love with my needling so-to-speak. I can ride the bike faster with less effort because the power is always there and in almost every situation I'm riding a gear higher. My KDX 220 buddy rode it and the first thing he said was that it feels like a 300 now.

Only issue is that there is a tiny bit of a mid-range hit that wasn't there with the JD Kit on the Mikuni.

Well I have a little spoiler alert/teaser. I installed the carb Tuesday night and it went on without much drama. It started and idled perfect. Sounds really crisp. Only problem is, I don't have a suspension or tires mounted right now... I know, excuses, excuses. :D I pick the suspension up tomorrow morning then once I'm back home I'll mount the tubliss setups with a 216AA front and a Sedona 907 tubliss rear. Test ride to follow.
They sent me a 36mm power jet carb with a 3-2XL metering rod. I had to trim the air boot back a half inch per instructions. Easy install overall.

Have the suspension on and the rear tire and tubliss mounted. I'm getting closer. I also have a neat cut on my right index finger at the big knuckle from my tire spoon slipping off the Sedona and slamming my knuckle into the sharp ass edge of the brake disk.. Should have had gloves on buuuut I didn't. It definitely needs some stitches but I super glued it for now. I'll take a peek at it in the morning. The drive to get the suspension was 4 hours, 2 each way so I think I'm done for today. More tomorrow.

Thats what super glue is for!
Yup leccy on my 360 not same as yours but i have only heard of a few being unhappy an i think their carbs were perfect.
I used to fowel plugs every 4 hours and i dropped a load of brass in the mikuni never got it right.
Lectron half turn leaner and not touched it since still on same plug after a year too.
Really an excellent bit of gear.

You got instructions? Shoot them my way if you have a chance.

Just got back from a test ride and the Lectron seems to be dialed in very well. Smooth off the bottom and pulls evenly throughout the power valve opening. Then it flat out hauls the mail. This is what I expected when I bought it. Not sure why these carbs aren't OEM equipment on production bikes. Anyway, 1st and second gear throttle chops loft the front wheel with no bog, nice and crisp. It is 45f here with 50% humidity. I'm a happy camper and my suspension feels good so far too. Just set static sag and jumped on for a test ride.
I did find a dead coyote while out riding. Looks like it got hit by a car and limped off the road and died. Musta happened last night because it was barely stiff.

X mass came early for you then, as for non production think the shop isnt set up for mass production, and factories arnt gunna drop the coin on a $300 carb when a mikuni is probably $50 wholesale.

I just ordered a Lectron for my 165 build. They first recommended the 36mm, then I said I'm gonna' race it and he said get the 38mm then.
He, Kevin, also said they have new rods which are better than the 3-2-m and included 1 for my 300 too.
Spendy! $443 with cable + shipping
