  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

anyone have info on special parts ECU/short db killer for TE510?

A Class
The 2010 / 2011 Husky Special parts book has a ECU / short db killer combination for stock exhaust 2009 and 2010 twin cam bikes (310/450/510)

I searched and found a couple of users with the 310 kit - anyone use it in a 510 or know what changes are made to the ECU timing/fuel curves?

My main goal would to have a more aggressive timing curve (both initial and advance) for the 2000-5000 range. A Special Parts ECU could provide that if progammed for it.

THx!

Hmmm, dont know.
I think the DB killer may just be the spark arrester from the TXC?
The ECU is very different programming between the 310 and 510. They wont run with a 310 ECU on, tried it whilst investigating a problem.
I have been using a long Arrow on my 09 TE510 which pulls the revs out longer but it was to close to the airbox so I have reverted to the original.
Not much help am I... :excuseme:

The Db killer is not a spark arrester. It is a small pipe to choke down the exit of the can some. The Spark Arrester is a little screen piece that would replace the Db killer in the end of the pipe.

Thanks for the replies !

The 310 / 450 / 510 all have different part numbers for the kit.

The stock "soft" ignition curve will be easier on bearings than something else - I'll live with it.
