• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Well my favorite ride area is finally snow free and I headed up there with good friend Scott to rip it up and test some stuff. We had a GREAT day. Super fun and perfect weather.

Cool standing lenticular.

Nice

Very nice photos

Had to look that one up. Anyway you can see 4 mountains from that point. Hood, Adams, helens and Rainier. Here is a standing lenticular on Rainier...

Arrghh! I swore I wasn't going to look...but I couldn't resist.

That looks a lot like the really tasty stuff in Idaho.

And I, uh, noticed the lensing standicular stuff right away, too...

I'm surprised coffee let you, dale and dog in here :D

He almost had to after letting Michael in.
Love the photos but I have to ask, some of them look pretty familiar. Are some of shots reposts or are they just the same area. I can tell that a lot of them are new because of the bikes. I've seen that sidehill trail before and it always scares me just looking at it.

Still resisting.

All those pix are from yesterday. You may have seen this same area in other posts of mine in the past. I guess I am becoming redundant. :D

I clearly saw in several pics a new prototype 2008 fuel cell.

Thanks man.

Like anything worth doing it is full of frustrations, anxiety, unknowns and such but I have to admit I'm a pretty happy camper right now with most all aspects of my life. It is by design though and I have given up good money for a quality of life lifestyle. It's been a fruitful trade off.

Again, thanks all for the support.

BTW, about the location, I love it here but you do have to endure dark skys and rain for a good portion of the year. Many people who move here for the beauty leave because of the depression in the rainy months. About every other house in my area has a shop and "projects" are big in the winter months. Always amazes me the cool bikes and cars that appear with the sun every spring.

How 'bout a bag of doghair with a splash of water in it? The scent last alot longer than those pine tree thingy's.

Deep stuff and so true, Kelly. Glad to support a motivated local business as much as possible; especially products that don't suck (meaning yours).

The dreary winter weather is always a topic amongst my peers and particularly the spouses that often have to endure it solo. It's driven lots of them away to other posts with more sunshine. I like a little gray dampness to drink tea with my wife. For flying, it absolutely stinks. Those beautiful lens clouds are made by deadly winds so I always associate them with danger; have seen them stacked 3 deep before over Rainier and gave them a wide berth when in the air. They make a nice picture, though.
