• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

I havent even ridden this thing for real yet...

I went for a rip down my driveway, at the top of 3rd gear went for a rear brake slide into the corner, and.....no rear brake. Grabbed a fist full of front brake locked her up and down I went....slid about 20' on the gravel with of course no safety gear. As luck would have it a 5" deep puddle slowed my slide.

Now im sore, scratched to sh!t and my bike needs new grips.

Turns out the bolt connecting the cylinder and the linkage fell out, but it was just in seconds before.

Geez Poopy:banghead:

Sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you're OK.

Out of all the bikes I've had I don't think I've ever had that come apart.
It's usually a pin with a cotter pin.:excuseme: Not a bolt.

Did you install the PowerNow yet?

Ya im not sure why they thought a bolt was a good idea....and its a short one at that. Nope havent put the power now in. I want to ride it for a while and get a baseline to see if i notice a difference.

20' or 20 miles....

rule #1: wear the gear. no gear = no ride.

yer very lucky yer still alive.

werd. i almost always put on sunglasses (to keep the bugs out) before i start my bike in sneakers and ride around the neighborhood helmetless and in shorts doing wheelies to test some jetting change before i load up and drive the 4 miles to the nearest real dirt.

Reminds me to go over the bolts and loctite a few things before this weekend's race tho.
