• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

And yet another happy Lectron customer.

Love Emails like this especially on Mondays.

"Kelly,
I received and installed the carb this weekend. I was able to go for a 15 mile semi technical ride last night as a shake down. There is no hype, these things are the real deal. The bike started second kick in my garage at 6500 ft and 25º F Idled great, and I just had to adjust the idle speed as it was a little low out of the box. Yesterday went out and rode some desert single track which has it all, and that I'm vary familiar with, to see if I could feel a difference. It was about 5000 ft and 33º F Once the bike warmed up it ran quite good. Within the first mile I was very pleased with the "electric" feel to the throttle, I then spent the next three or so miles purposely in the wrong gear trying to get it to "cough." Never happened, it revved a little slow but was clean and crisp. I then switched bikes with Adam Krefting of Kreft Moto, he is a AA desert racer and is building a reputation for tuning on the KTM 300's. I swapped to his modded everything FI 450SX and liked the bike, but wanted mine back. When we switched back he said he had done the same thing I did, was initially impressed by the smoothness and midrange, then spent the rest of his time on the bike trying to get it to cough or sputter and was unable to.

Thanks again for your help and I'll be posting a writeup on ADV Rider and Gas Gas Rider of my initial impressions and long term findings.
Drew"
