• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

AMA Motocross 2011 RD 11 Steel City (450 Class)

Great pass by RV on the final corner hey! Nothing RD could have done about that IMO, and it was clean as. I reckon RD wanted to get pissed at RV, but couldn't coz he did nothing wrong, so he showed maturity and composure.

I have actually gotten a lot of respect for the 2 Ryans this year. For the first time in a LONG time it looks like we may have good CLEAN rivalry between the top 2 riders in the field. I hope so anyway coz they are both really good riders.

There was a lot of talk of silly season at one stage, but it's quietened down a lot of late. The worst kept secret is RD moving to KTM, so it will be interesting how he goes there. Hope it doesn't make him uncompetitive. Even if they make an EFI 450 for him, it is going to require a lot of R&D to get it to the same level as the Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Honda's (notice how I do not include Yamaha - they seem to be losing a lot of teams next year so presume there is something not quite right with the bike).

My hot prediction for silly season... watch for a surprise move of the new 250 champ to 22 Motorsports ;) Chad was the first one across to Mitch to congratulate him, Wilson certainly stepped it up a notch after practicing with Chad, and the way Chad was celebrating with him was like they were already in the same team. There is meant to be a deal coming out of left field, and I reckon this will be it.

KTM just won the 2011 MX1 and the MX2 MXGP World Championships, I think they are pretty well dialed in and they are continuing to go in the correct R&D direction (with their MX team leadership). Also now that Musquin is back, but still a little beat up he podiumed at Steel City in the lites class. Alessi has holeshot nationals on his 450 Kato, could not hold it against the other riders but the bike sure goes good. I think Kato is more than competitive for a title here with the right (RD) rider. (all of this is my opinion based on factual happenings)

Yep, I think all the clean racing has been forgotten about between these 2 classy young racers .... RV2 was bent on making that last second pass ... RD might have been a little shaken there ... not sure but he looked liked he made a quick look over at RV2 just as he was on top of that small jump and RV2 was pulling up equal to him ... RD5 jumped off the track at finish line jump also ....

With a new efi 450, they might also have the homologation rule to deal with .... RD5 I think can ride whatever and podium each week ... The 2 Ryans are well past everyone and unless Canard steps up with them, it'll probably be these 2 in MX for the short term future ...

Same as RV2 ... Don't be surprised to see him win for the next few years ... He never really shows all his speed and can still win ... The way he won the MX (if he wins) and SX titles this year are almost mirrors of each other, ESP the last half of the season after he got the points lead in the MX season ....
