    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I was like several folks on here on Tc or Te new used ect and after a year on the te150 I know I made right decision for me anyway. I dont know how many times I would ride a 450 in basically 3d gear for 3hrs. I mean you can only use so much HP in woods Ok i have had my te150 for almost a year and figure I would touch on the mods made to bike. First I have rode/raced this bike from NY to Florida and about every state in between. I've raced this bike in GNCC National Enduro Full Gas Sprints and several local series in NC&SC and the tighter more technical the series the more the bike shines the more open fast tracks you gotta run like scared rabbit,but thats whats brought fun back for me.
Started by reading some info on this site about the bike(thanks Darin) so the day I brought it home pretty much pulled carb and adj floats changed mj and pj notched my slide and opened up airbox. Now I tried few different things over last winter.... we spent several weeks total in Sc testing carb settings and suspension tuning(springs oil height shims ect)The new xplor fork was another selling point for me too. I have rode bike with air not enough for honest opinion but I know how work on my xplor forks not really up on tuning aer48s.Anyways the stock carb with only the changes mentioned and vforce reed cage too work pretty good everywhere from 2500ft to sea level. Run vp110 mix 50:1. Got to first Gncc in Florida and noticed bike would spit sput wfo. Guess no matter how hard ride during winter always twist throttle little more on Sundays. Anyway contacted Darin and finally talked him into building me a mod carb for the Husky...basically oval boar different slide special needle and few other little tricks. First ride on bike had me actually laughing in my skull bucket. really could not believe how strong motor was now.I had been running a 51t sprocket(recomend for stock carb) but went back to a 50t with this carb.Bike has really good power from bottom to top. Idles perfect dosen't load up in tight woods and hits a ton mid top.Now I know its not a 450 4t nor is it as heavy(lol) after almost a full year racing different series in all types terrain not one time did i feel needed more power. I will say that in the gncc as open as they are now you have to really be on power pushing bike in woods so when hit open fields u dont lose to much ground on big boar but at end of 2 or 3 hours I'm no where near as tired as was on my 350 4t. In full gas sprints i lose time in grass test especially if its hilly to bigger bikes and no matter how well I hit the 180 corners Im lose seconds in every corner to 450s but at end of 12 test and two full days racing in 95 degree heat Im worn out but not as bad.
Some other things changed was always run tubliss in my bikes front&rear,flexx bars brp clamp w/GPR V1,G2 throttle tube and cable (hate lock ons)full set plastics(stock still new)stickman graphics tmdesign skidplate seat concepts ribbed seat P3 pipe guard fmf powercore xring chain flexx co brake bucket/spring and yes I run Dunlops and everyone is right the rear 81 does wear fast but I have been running AT81 RC desert for years in sand mud rock clay ect and it wears 10x better than stock 81s. Usually run 6psi in rear and when edge starts go away flip in around run it some more. Run 32 or mxxs whatever hell they change name to unless its really rocky or real dry then at81 front.
As for the button or kick its all what you prefer i guess but until I got this bike I never had a button and I had more than my share of double kicker starts! Think of those starting lines on a hill where you look for rock put behind rear tire help you on start.
 
Hey Blink can you shed some light on top speed? I had a ktm 200mxc with the close ratio 6speed and it was miserable! maybe 58 mph wfo. Although I ride mostly 2 and 3rd gear single track there are sections between trails where i need 75 with out blowing the thing up. My last bike was a 16 yz250fx with an overdrive-like 6th gear where I could hit the highway if need be and that was awesome! So what say you about 3/4 throttle in 6th gear? I really want this bike but am weary of the tranny ratios. Please help!!

Well I can shed a little light on top speed but as for hard fact numbers I would have to say no not at this time...First off there are several variables to take into consideration as rider weight gear ratio stock/mod ect.. I have no way to give you hard fact numbers cause I unhooked speedo headlight assembly and we are leaving for Ga this evening for race this weekend but maybe one day next week I plug speedo back up and give you true number.Darin may have some true numbers I think he checked his top speed before and after mods but not sure. With that said I would think that in stock form with carb jetted correct and stock gearing you would be close to what your looking for but stock carb bike performs better with 51t rear so that would bring top speed down a little. The 250fx is a really good woods bike as is the 250x which I know would fit your needs and maybe an option to look at. I dont think you would be wrong going with TE150 but that's just my opinion. I know I got mine pretty good on top stock and now has some crazy top end now but without a true reading don't want throw out any numbers yet but now I'm little curious too. Even stock you could put a 49t rear sprocket on bike and get the top speed your looking for if your light enough.
