• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Cool. They could really have done a better job on the styling. Looks fun.
I was thinking the same thing about the styling... kinda looks like one of those "MX" bicycles you see at Walmart and Target.

Improved suspension...

Play the youtube link with "Natural sound" pretty cool....

Dean : do you see any noticeable improvements / changes ?

This gets more and more interesting.....

T

The Natural Sound video is exactly what I heard at the 24 hour event (of course there were many on the track). I do not recall USD forks or even that style of frame/swing arm. I recall several people needing to rob parts off a donor bike they had because some of the shocks & forks broke.

Someone who knew what they were talking about that watched the race and thought they were holding up well considering everything. I thought the design could be improved and it appears they have been. To be sure I'd have to dig up the 24hours endurance thread and compare pictures.

Looks much better than the ones I saw as I recall!

2hr ride time. they need to get it to at least 5hrs. are you sure that was an mx noise or the bike rattling? lol. looks cool, thought is cool.

They had the Zero at the Mammoth Motocross on display. Didn't get a look at it myself but they were talking about it on the PA system.

Here's the one that everyone should be chasing boys. It even looks like a REAL dirtbike...and it has a REAL suspension...

I have these guys coming to do a demo at the enduro I am organizing in July. The dealer network is small but is growing. The guy I have coming is from Vermont (I am in Ontario) and he is a dirt rider like us. He says that the e-bike is not a replacement for a dirt bike...yet. But the Quantya is a blast to ride and can pretty much do anything a dirt bike can...just not for a very long time. 45mins bat. life when on the "gas" all the time.

If I had the $$ I would buy a Quantya in a heart beat.

After I ride it I will give you guys a full report.

Sounds great!

I'm glad I spent the time to go to the 24 hour "Electicross" event a while ago, it was quite interesting to see how they performed. It was a cool day they were pouring water on the motor to keep them cool and changing batteries quite often.... every 9 minutes? The report thread about that is on CH somewhere for the actual numbers if someone wants to look for it.

How much do they cost?

$10,000...battery alone is $3,800

The Qunatya is made is Switzerland so with the USD sucking compared to the EURO the cost is high
