    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

"All Balls" wheel bearing kits

We have used all balls wheel bearing sets on many diferent brand bikes with good results the seals have been good. However I have not seen the husky seals.
 
there china, but ive used them on a few things and they've held up very well,

i actually buy the Moose Racing brand, but in small print on the package it says there all-ballz

I know we have pros on this thread.
But I will state that I will not use made in China bearings on my 8000 dollar machine to save 20 bucks,,,,,I just purchased OEM SKF bearings for about 1 third more to double of what the M in C bearings cost. There have been many documents in the Aircraft biz concerning the fake quality level designations of the made in China mechanical stuff, including fake CE markings that that the Chinese dismiss as their own Chinese Export label. This is strictly my opinion but as an industry person, I am very square on on fair labor practice, environmentally sound manufacturing processes, copyright violations and and CE and ISO certifications that cover all the standards for fair and safe practices.

Buy fair, buy quality, buy into longetivity, support fair labor, pay a little more and get what you pay for.
 
I agree with Robert.

That said i have used the All Balls kits and the one for the linkage is very nice as it comes with the collars, spacers, seals and bearings. The bearings are the cheaper models but I had no issues with them. For a inexpensive and complete kit it is hard to beat. If you want top quality get top quality bearings. You pay for what you get.
 
We should get Mike Kay's opinion on this as I think he's in the business.

I KNOW George isn't buying Chinese bearings.
 
Mixed Opinion

I've used AllBalls without knowing their origin when I was building up a spare set of wheels and was surprised to find the bearings dropped right in ... and out ... unless I used a little bearing retainer.
I agree with Robert's sentiment - the last thing I want to knowingly put on my mission-critical equipment is CCC (cheap Chinese crap). It's getting harder everyday, but intelligent consumers can stem the tide of inferior-quality products by demanding that what they buy be made by a reputable company in a reputable country.
 
i have used all balls recently to replace both wheel bearings, the linkage bearings and the swingarm bearings plus head head bearings. i have to say i had no problem with them, good tight fit similar to any bearing i have ever used be it oem or aftermarket.

its handy to get all the seals and bits and pieces in one kit, i have no opinion really on whether you consider them cheap chinese crap but i have found cheap european crap and cheap american crap over the years regardless of the price paid for the items. so who knows? :excuseme:
 
bearings

its getting harder and harder to find quality bearings. only a few american mfgs left in business. most have been moved overseas. used to find quality german stuff, but that is even getting difficult to find. have to agree with george and robert, the majority of the china stuff is 3rd rate at best.

ive also bought a lot of bearings and seals for my husky at the local beaing house. they guys that run the place have been in the industry for a very lng time. they know their stuff and are always very helpful.

Just to be clear on my position, I was not targeting any of our small business companies as it may have sounded. I was stating my preference for OEM quality or equal to OEM quality mechanical parts no matter where they are made. R

Yep, same here. I always try the Bearing House here in Oakland before calling my bike dealer. They usually have 2 or 3 levels of quality to choose from and the best ones are usually cheaper than OEM.

id like to get one some day, its in line after the case spreader and crank bearing puller.

i do like RC's prices on their tools, ive got the crank installer tool now, soon ill own the case spreader. tizz the season to rebuilt a 144!
 
yeah i switched to rocky mountain after i saw there express shipping charges, its like 2 dollars more for 2nd day air :applause:

they just need to add manufacturers parts numbers in there system so we can cross reference stuff to husqvarna. everybody call them and tell them to change this! its insane, there catering to JAP stuff
