The Varese-based Husqvarna riders repeat their triumph in the popular Enduro race , the 13th Green Pistons - Trophy Progrip. Antoine Meo won in 2009 and later became Enduro World Champion, this time Alex Salvini from Bologna won the overall standings of two lap race on the trials in the wonderful area of Cassano Magnano. His team-mate Matti Seistola from Finland, won the Memorial Hilary Rustighini section between Caronno Varesino and Valdarno of Albizzate with due to his excellent speed.
The 27 year old Alex Salvini, rider of the Husqvarna Enduro World Championship Team from Varese in 2011 and 2012, debuted at the Green Pistons and with him 330 bikes. The most popular Enduro race, was born in Cassano Magnano and has become a great success thanks to its enormous growth in the recent years and the numerous spectators.
Salvini, vice motocross world champion in 2009 and 2010, under contract at the CH racing team from Albizzate, arrived in Varese with a spirit of friendship, which is involved in the adventure from one of the organizers (the team manager Fabrizio Azzalin).
The field was full of strong competitors with Alex Botturi (TM motorcycles, three-time winner) from Brescia, Simone Albergoni (Honda) and Thomas Oldrati (KTM) from Bergamo, the young Giacomo Redondi and brave Antonio Pogna, who overtook the Fin Matti Seistola, Husqvarna World Championship rider, in the first heat.
Then Salvini set the pace in heat 2. It was great to see him in action somewhere between insane high speed stunts and riding virtuosity on the rocks, jumps on the wooden bridge and on the logs and drifts ... like he did in the MX world championship.
Also wonderful the was head-to-head battle with Seistola on the Husqvarna , which is built in Biandronno , who received applause from the thousands of fans around the circuit of the 2012 Green Pistons. The victory was taken by the red and white bike of Salvini only 53 hundredth ahead of Albergoni from Treviglio and 2 "33 ahead of the third placed blue TM of Alex Botturi (winner in 2008, 2010 and 2011). Fourth finished Fin Seistola, who had a crash in the 2nd heat, but won brilliantly the special test between Caronno Varesino and Valdarno Albizzate on his Husqvarna TE250R (the test dedicated to Hilary Rustighini Jerago that had its debuted in the first edition in 2000 and then disappeared prematurely few days later) .
Speaking of VIP and entrepreneurs, also the president of Husqvarna Motocycles, German Klaus Allisat has to be mentioned. He rode very well in stony and steep section and was also improving his performance in both the special stages.
