  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

125-200cc Air Filters

Are they good? I've always used twin air with no problems but always looking for something new and different.

so the question has to do with other brands than the OEM at the dealer
the OEM is Twin Air but I have used a number of different brands but seems the Twin Airs hold up better than most
you get what you pay for in an air filter, a little dirt and your top end is toast
the cheaper ones seam to fall apart as in become crumbly early on

Check out Funnel web filters from australia we run them in all our bikes, the unusual spiky shape gives more surface area, helps to keep filter cleaner for longer.

I've actually looked at those online but if I remember there is no American or Canadian dealer form them.

hiflo filtro I think theyre called(exact same as twinair). seem good to me. funnelweb also seem good & look cool

Maxima also do air filters. I am using one on my 125 seems to work ok, but I don't like the fit compared to the OEM Twin Air unit.

Moose makes some with a nice rubber seal built in.

careful with NoToil and this type of Moose, i used to run those, and liked them, until the NoToil ate the neoprene seal. kinda melted it and made it stick to the cage like glue. had to destroy the filter to get it off.

i've been running the pre-oiled NoToil filters lately. pretty cheap ($16.99) so i just toss 'em out after a few washes/uses.

wish the LoudMouth system i ran on my TC fit the WR, loved that setup with a TwinAir filter.

The NoToil green stuff will eat filter glue, but I've had no issues with the red (alcohol) based stuff. No Toil actually replaces a few air filters for me due to this.

And filters from steel framed Honda's fit perfect after you punch a few holes for the air filter cage. I ordered 4 filters for a 1996 CR250 and these filters fit the WR300 as well as 125's.

yeah, i ran out of red stuff and used a buddys green stuff a few times... filter was toast. NoToil was great about covering filter replacement and said not to use it on Moose filters again (just in case)

Had the exact same issue so I switched to a TwinAir.
