  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

AHRMA Vintage/Post-Vintage Enduro

Husqvarna
AA Class
The first ever AHRMA Vintage/Post Vintage Enduro will be held as part of the McKee's Sky Ranch WVA Weekend. The Enduro will be on Saturday July 23rd.
It will be about 60 miles, with a gas stop/break at about the half-way point. Mostly open riding with 2 or 3 points taking sections. Bikes DO NOT have to be street legal!
Plenty of info is posted on the NA XC Series Facebook page...just Google "Vintage Hare Scrambles".
The NA XC and Potomac Vintage Riders web sites will be updated shorty...maybe...

AHRMA members enter via the Seriestracker web site...non-AHRMA members can get entry blanks mailed or faxed to them, or stop by and see us at the York PA Swap meet on Sunday 1/17/16.

I hope this is a big hit with lots of entries . Then maybe one day there will be some in the south east, although I would love to ride in that part of the country too. Just don't want to drive for 2 days .

I plan on running it.If you can bring enough cycles there's riding Thursday thru Sunday.

Well...for a NJ team you could start with Fred Hoess and Drew Smith...not too shabby...

But I'll have to add here that with the 1001 issues and details we're trying to deal with to pull this off...you'll notice on the Entry Blank that there is NO provision for teams! Sorry...
Still a topic of internal discussion, if we can figure out a simple way to manage and score teams, we'll post an update!

shhhh.....I know....just trying to use "team" as i means more than 1 rider and others will bring others and we will have alot of full minutes.....old school style. Hoess and Smith ride too fast and will make me burn check ins. LOL!

Darn right!
Old school...Route Sheet (we'll provide with times so you don't have to stay up till mid-night doing it yourself), Clock, Odometer (if you have one...if not you'll be able to keep on pace via Major Turn mileages).
No computers.
Just like Bill Baird...
More detailed info on the Entry Blank

How about a Pa/ NY team.....best thing ever to come out of Jersey is the road to NY State...only kiddin ! I think this is going to be an absolute blast .....really looking forward to it...

I am trying to talk some of my VMX buddies into racing it too.

Yeah, burning checks is a killer! I wonder if they are doing double penalty minutes for being early?

By what I heard in York it should be fairly easy to keep time for the event. The organizer is providing a roll chart with possibles and said they will be posting the ground miles on the course regularly. So, if you can adjust a clock for key time/start time and reset your trip miles to the course markers, then you should be in resonably good shape.

I am considering using a Trail Tech digital speedo/trip meter. The gear whine from my stock WR cable drive speedo is louder than the motor at 20 MPH!
