  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

So I purchased a Husq. WR250 about 6 months ago and have been thinking. There is a lack of aftermarket bolt on parts for these bikes. Im thinking about starting to design some good bolt on protection parts for the Huskys and just want to get a feel from the guys on this site.

My first project is to build a simple case saver for the 250 / 300 to replace the dinky plastic one that comes on the bikes. My thought is to sell this cnc machined, anodized red at a cost of $30 - $40.

Let me know your thoughts.

If you build it, I will buy it.

I'm still waitin' to hear something on that alloy shifter that HuskySport teased us with this summer too! :D

None of those appear to be for the WR250/300 2-strokes though. We have right side drive,...and we get left out on a lot of the trick stuff.

Here is my first prototype. Tell me what you think

Sorry about the delay on the alloy shifter. It's still something I'd like to do but just not had the time this year to sort out. There is a Race FX one available now but the one I fitted to a bike to try was very close to the clutch cover. I'm not sure if that was a one off or if they are all like that. If another one is OK then we don't need to produce one...

Looks nice.
I would add a little support in the middle section.
Also, put a 14T counter sprocket on and get the fit a little tighter.
