• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

 I like it :) I've seen it before but it never fails to crack me up.

I wish I was into taking photos when I was riding sportbikes all the time. I was still an off-roader at heart, and I've always had questionable judgement, so I could have gotten some entertaining photos then :p

Yeah. I still do a lot of dirt on my street bikes. There is one epic loop that has 11 miles of not so good gravel but the loop is worth it. Your riding on the edge of a huge lava flow, thick forest on one side big lava flow on the other, visually amazing.

my BMW is a good dirt bike :D

My Kaw Versys tried the dirt, she liked the smooth dirt and hated the big rocks.

Nice! I really like the looks of the Versys.

Can you give me the size/model of the tires you're running?
I could get even more inappropriate with my SV if it had those tires on it:D

On the front 17" sumo wheel is a rear, Conti TKC80, 130x17

On the rear is a Conti TKC 150x17

It was like a tractor with a Ninja motor....crazy to ride, would sling gravel in the curves 150 feet off the road.

 I'll bet!

I run rear knobs on my SM610, but usually go with a 120.

Looks great!

OlderHuskyRider,

Where did you get your engine guard? How much? I have seen one from Happy Trails, one from Twisted Throttle, but I like the looks of yours the best.

That engine guard is an Algard, a guy in Croatia or Slovenia made tham but had since stopped. Search for Algard and you might find one for sale
