  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Acerbis big tank

Nothing confirmed, someone asked about on CH yesterday too referencing a thread on TT, maybe in the Motosportz forum.

big tank

i talked to the people from bajacycles, who are dealer for acerbis, they will have info on delivery date and tank size in about 10 days. tanks should be here inside of 6-7 weeks. a member of the italian trade commission was also at the booth, covering all things aftermarket. new boots, gloves clothing. nothing else husky specific.

Anyone know if any of the aftermarket tanks will fit, or are expected to fit, an '07 Euro (fan)?

the acerbis thing makes sense,, they never made Husky plastic until this 09 catalog came out.

My stock plastic tank has Acerbis stamped on the bottom of it?

Good point, another new tank would be half the price of another new stabilizer. and I could probably unload the IMS for at least half what I paid for it. Lets hope the new tanks work with the Motosportz damper.:) Ken

BTW I rode with a friend that has the same bike as mine and he has a GPR under bar mount that works with his IMS tank, it looks nice.

FYI - The tank size is listed at 13.5 liters in the husky hard parts catalog that was posted on TT. That puts capacity at 3.6 gallons.

As hard as I try to be the first to know whats new with the brands I sell, with Husky, I always seem to be last. I need to see some higher resolution pictures of the catalog so I can check the part numbers. I think I will write Mr. Keith an Email this morning.

Crap, BMW and their stupid mail system. I think they change everyones address like once a month. My other brands at least send out memo's when they change email. Rob's just bounces back, all three that I have. I will call him and let you guys know.

A lot of the part numbers still don't exist on the European Softway system.. supposedly available to order from January...

I have the GPR mounted on a TE 450 and I do not see how a IMS would work, don't have the IMS though. I still say there must be a way to modify the IMS to make it fit. I have a friend who used to own a plastic company I am going to ask.
