• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A Selfish Christmas

Every year I try and make sure that I also gift myself during the holiday season. It all started with a set of premium ride boots about 10 years ago. It felt great to spoil myself as well and made the season even that much more enjoyable. I suggest you try it if you don't already!

My wife and I have already spoiled ourselves pretty good with a few electronic goodies, but today I pick up a 350 lb. shipping box! It's not a bike, but it is bike related and something I have dreamed about having in my personal moto shop for a very long time. Providing that I make it back home through the snow and ice, I will post a pic this evening!

Okay.........., I guess a bike lift .......
YES!!! A new Handy Sport Lift!

This thing lifts 40" (39" on the first safety catch) and most lifts, including the standard Handy lift, only lift to 30". I'm a short dude and a 30" lift would never do. Even my old Kendon lifted to 32". First photo is @ 40" and the second is at 30" to give you an idea of the major difference.

I have one of those too. I bought mine in 1986. I've had to replace the o-ring and pin on the floor pedal a couple of times over the years, but other than that, it has never had anything else go wrong with it.

I tried to buy one local, but man was that frustrating. There was one here that was probably the same as yours (the good old all grey models) that was a very good deal with the cycle vise and dolly to move it around. The problem was that it was left outside for the last 5 years.

Self gifting is the only way... Now I just need to find the right tires to put under the tree

Tires look good under trees too!

I'd like to give myself a gift of a WR125 Cagiva Husqvarna, but too poor, this year. I guess I'll just have to regift my WR 300 to myself.

That is so funny DD  But I may do the same and regift my WR 150 this year because I spoiled myself when I bought it and I still love it.
