  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A pleasant surprise on my '10 TC 250...

Not sure if Husky did this intentionally to all 2010's or if mine is a fluke, but my gas cap is infinitely easier to get on and off than all my other Huskies.

Wonder if ti is different than the 09 WR125? Mine goes on pretty good and seals well. But then again i never really had an issue with husky caps like some do.

The TXC can be a bit of a challenge. Our CR 125 was horrible.

My TE 250 and my CR 125 are horrible. I finally fixed it on the CR by installing the IMS 3.4 gallon tank, which comes with its own cap. Like buttah.

Im confused. What kind of problem is there with the 09 gas caps? The only problem I had was the little removable piece that Husky puts on there. It kept the cap from screwing down all the way. Once I took that off there were no more issues.

My OEM tank on my 08/TE-510 leaked all the time. Never really thought about it once I put on the IMS tank.:excuseme:

The 09/WR-125 cap works real good. Although I find myself using it more than I'd like to.:D

I have to tighten the cap super tight and it still will leak(from the cap not breather) if i fill the tank to high. Then it can be a nightmare to remove since i had to tighten it so tight.

Its like the plastic binds on itself. I wish we have the ktm style.

My issues are, I think, out-of-round filler holes, which makes threading the cap on very difficult, and it takes a lot of force to get it to go on and off.

Yep can be a tad fiddly to put back on and a real mongrel to undo as they need to be real tight otherwise they spew fuel. Tried greaing the threads a little-more trouble than its worth as it gathers gunk. Finally tore the rubber insert from the pressure and had it replaced cost 31 bucks for a piece of crap rubber-absolute rip off imho-but 24 hour turn around from R@D Husky. Price of convenience I spose.
