• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

My son James, has just started his own powder coating business, here SE Kent In the UK.
If you facebook Blue Whippet Services you will see pics of some of his 87 250WR parts he is working through as time permits and my 430XC spare cyl head.
Whippet flyer.jpg This is his business card (I wonder where he got the colour idea from???) He can do via courier, but you would have to arrange your own at the moment. Until he can find one that he can trust to deliver goods undamaged.

We use cotswold couriors who use uk mail for rest of uk, do pick up for £20 and deliver for £10 less if youve an account but that 25kg more and you pay a little extra. Best of luck with the business

Thanks for the sentiment and the info, will look into this. As you know it takes time to build a reputation and one careless courier to wreck it!

Yeh it doesnt take much to sully a reputation, how big is the largest item you can coat? Car bonnet size? Car size? Have a local one in ebly area that powder coated a friends pick up looked good from far but far from good.

At the moment his oven is 6'H x 3'w x 3'd so mainly bike frame and wheel size. He is trying to offer a low volume fast turnaround personal service. It came from getting a frame done for a KDX 200 3 years ago, when a 3week timeline became 5 weeks as we had to wait for them to change colour, or their large contract filing cabinet customer wanted more, so we just got pushed down the queue, at the moment he can offer a seven day service for walk in customers.
