• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

A couple of my Huskys

love the silver streak looks almost original ! Mine had the gold bars or were they black ? anyway god rid of the magura sidepull and put a gunner gaser on .

Nice, big bores the only way to fly. Awesome lookers too. You keep them really clean too.

Yes I like. My two project bikes won't be completely original but I'm buying one part at a time. I find the original 83/84 gas tanks cheaper and more available. On my early 80's cr frames they will hold more gas. I'll either paint them black for the 420 or red for the 430. I'm happy to find most of the correct parts but anything I can have fit will be ok.

You have a nice bike there I like it. Bill

Is the longer kick starter make the 500 easier to start?

The 84 xc 500 has every bearing changed [engine , wheels , frame ] new bore and piston , rear shocks are Promax adjusable comp/damp , heavier spring , front has heavier springs and pd valves , rims are Excel with heavier s/steel spokes new plastics including larger tank , I have an 83 alloy xc tank that will be painted white with a black area instead of shinny alloy patch , re earlier models , HVA pipe with DG muffler , high rise Renthal bars with new Magura levers and new throttle , new cables , new seat foam and custom made gripper cover , new alloy engine cover new 40mm Mikuni carb , new reed petals , new rubber manifold , both sides , new brake shoes , and every part is painted.Basically the bike is new.
Kick starter and stainless steel decomp machined into head are exactly what these big bores need , easy on engine cases and easier to start.DSCN0264.JPG
