  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey guys hankering after an old Italian supermoto, used to have a old sm510 years ago and it was ace probably the best supermoto I've ever had and it never gave me a ounce of problem but for some unknown reason I sold it. Fast forward to today and I am drooling after a 2004 smr450 in great condition it's done 8500 miles but is really clean. Been googling the he'll out this but still have a few questions, where in the UK is the best place to get parts?
Uses to use husky sport but are they still able to get italoan parts?
What are the things to look for engie wise?
I hear titanium valves are a pr0blem that year but after that mileage do you think they have probably been done by now?
If not where could I get stainless steel valves?
Overall how do these old girls compare these days do they still hold up?
Cheers for the help in advance I really appreciate it.

Hi yes Husky sport can still get Italian parts Reece in the parts dept is very good. then there is Paul at Motosupplies based in Carnforth, we run a 05-07 te 450 and parts are out there. off road only is also a good source of parts. Our bikes are still competitive and have multitask a lot of events and trail riding. hope this helps some what.
