    As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

    When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

    Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

    Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

    Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

I have a 99 TE610 E
Ordered parts but they shipped me te610 Kickstart parts.
Nothing in the package worked
Bearings bushings extractor and gaskets all NFG.
$300 down the drain and doubt they will exchange them.

Spent 2 days tearing it down and putting it together.
Adjusted the valves at least.

The deal is.
I'm in Costa Rica and need to source parts
Anyone know when this bottom end changed on these electric te 610?
2000 2003 2005????

I need a timing chain.
Or going to try and source silent chain here and make one
Stock chains are crap!
They should last longer than 20.000 km.

Clutch basket bronze bushing and shims needed badly.
It's getting sloppy.


The dealer here carries limited parts and when I say 1999 and they walk away.

hoping maybe I can use 2005 parts for example.

Any help or info appreciated.
 
Sorry to hear that you're having trouble. You should be good with any 610 part up to 2009, I think. To be sure, you have to manually check part numbers in the spare parts catalogs. You can find all of them here.

I should be able to get the parts for mid to 09 here I hope.
I will see about returning or exchanging.
Parts guy hasn't offered to exchange thus far.

DID makes silent chain and going to see about buying some of this at the bearing shop in the city if they have any.
