• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

630 Lambda/o2 Delete......Noob needs help

Husqvarna
Bit the bullet and bought a used (1900) miles TE 630 for $6000 to good of a deal to pass up. I have read forums on this website about doing the Lambda delete, good info. I went ahead purchased the 2.2k ohm 1/4 resistor from Radio Shack as described did install bike is running killer, no more boggy throttle or jerkiness when cruising or between gears however, my idle won't go below 2850 rpm's. I have adjusted the idle all the way in and all the way out removed the air box completely just to make sure I had a good bead on the idle screw and the idle won't go up or down just stays at 2850. From what I have read is that the TPS now needs to be adjusted which is contrary to what others have experienced, others have done this simple mod adjusted their timing and bam! Good to go!.........Any feedback on what I have done incorrectly or what I need to do now? I take it I can't adjust the TPS witout some type of tuning device? I called my local Husky dealer yesterday and they said to bring my bike in and they will adjust it and tune for around $100 but if I can going to go that route kind of eliminates the DIY situation.......Any feedback from anyone will be appreciated...... I need to get my idle back down......Thanks in advace!

Idle increasing upon installation of a power-up kit is normal. The idle adjustment screw doing nothing is not normal.

As said above, throttle cable may need adjusting, or your TPS needs reset. The throttle cable you can do yourself, the TPS requires iBeat.

You can pay the dealer $100 every time you want to use their iBeat, or you can buy your own for about $300 from SEMCO Designs.

Be advised, iBeat software will only run on a 32-bit Windows OS. If you have anything else, you'll have to get a cheapo computer, or use a virtual machine.

The fast idle cable (little trigger on the handlebar) needs to be adjusted since it is now causing your bike to run at high idle. Loosen the cable adjustment at the handlebar. You may have to adjust the cable at the FI unit if you can not get enough slack on the handlebar adjuster.

Thanks everyone! Checked the tension in the throttle cable and is not binding anywhere looks good. Definitely the idle screw - right behind the airbox to the right - check! I checked the "Hot Start" or "Fast Idle Cable"and sure enough once I adjusted this my idle went down immediately, got it idling at 1750 and bike is running sweet...........

1650 is the owner's manual idle spec. You can turn it down a little more if you so desire.
