• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610SM to TE ?

Hiya

I was wondering whether its possible to swap over an SM to a TE ?
I see a lot of people going the TE - SM route so I know a conversion is more than likely possible.

What would be involved ?

I've a 2009 UK SM (Electronic Injection)

I've had a look around but would like and am struggling to find parts and information on the change over.

Thanks for any information you can help with.

Cheers for the Info Palmer!
Sorry I did have a look around but not very good with these things.

Looks like the 17" knobblies are going to be the best route to take in which case, easier on my bank balance too!

Could you advise on some 17" Tyres to go for ?
I'd swap them over in the garage and run them just for the days of green laneing
i have seen a tyre called mitas c-02 on www.wulfsport.com imguessing this will be good for the rear but what can i run on the front?

thanks

I would befriend woodschick for tire opinion in 17s. I have a T63 and Kenda 570. But she is the SM tire goddess.

Cheers once again! PM going her way now.

How do you find your tyres ?
Have you had to play around with spring rates on the SM Suspension ?

No suspension change. Tires are tires when they get that fat, it's like riding one of those Yamaha TW200s. I don't run it much in that trim because I have other bikes but it is fun to tool around on.
