• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

610 seat locking pin

Is there a way to ensure that no filthy ba.....rd wont open the seat and steal the seat it self or even worse the Micuni ECU thats located underneath?Has anyone made a mod on this?Every time i park the bike to non visible place im worried!!Is there a way to lock the seat to the rest of the bike?

Fixed on the 630 ;)

Still not very secure though, you could yank the front up if you felt like it...

You may be able to adapt something like the locking hood pins for drag cars, the cheaper ones run ~$20

.....and steal the seat it self or....

:) Anyone who is dumb enough to steal the 610's seat I would say is disserveing it....
How about snapping the ring out of it and making a tool you can put in the locking pin to open it, something small you can keep in your pocket, that way it won't be so easy for others to open it?

:applause:The hell with it they can keep it.The ECU is that concerns me most.Ive thought of that..and its a good idea... unless i find a locking hood pin in a discent price...

That's what I did. Then all you need is a slot screw driver or a dime to open it.

My 610 lives a very sheltered garaged life, in a place where you can probably leave it in a parking lot with the keys in it and it'll still wait there for you a week later...
Is that ecu snatching a known issue or is it more like better safe then sorry?

Mine has a locked garage too. I'm more worried about parking it at a burger joint and having someone pick my bike up and throwing it in the back of a pickup truck and stealing the whole thing - but I have full coverage insurance.

That's what I mean, it seems slightly bizarre for someone to try and get his filthy little hands on a single component when it'll probably take him the same amount of time to call some of his boyfriends:love: and hoist the whole thing on the back of a pickup
:excuseme:

i keep the bike on a closed garage too but when im going out,Saturday night for instance, and park it outside for a couple of hours well yes then im worried.I use ABUS chain and lock it to a steady pole or something ...

My search engine words are not finding a couple of posts I read quite a while back on replacing the seat anchor pin with a better locking mechanism.
I am thinking I saw a bolt type replacement and receiver.

Thanks.
