• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Hey all, I,m looking at used 610s from 2007 and up. How many miles can you expect to get out of the motor if properly cared for and not abused? Both top end and bottom end, I,ve also heard the cam chain and sprocket are first thing that needs replacing, how many miles can you expect to get out of them. Any info you folks have on life expectancy of motor and other pets too would be greatly appreciated. It,s awesome to be able to have the Cafe Husky forum to exchange information. Thanks everybody TL

I think 20k with proper care is easy. So talk of 25k-30k before a rebuild. CC replaced when needed, just check the CCT .

Depends how you ride / treat it, but yes 25k - 30k is what you hear guys getting. It's not a KLR

I have 18K and it burns no oil. I expect over 40K before anything serious needs to be done. I do not count cam chain as serious.

30K + is not uncommon and you can expect to replace a cam chain at least once during that time. For some reason the second chain seems to go on forever while some people have a short life on the first one.

Well, I mostly use my TE for my 50+ commute to work when the weather is good. I have yet to take her out and get her dirty... I know, burn me at the stake, just haven't had time...

Thanks guy,s, I just made a deal on a '07 with 10,000 mi on it and it runs good , sounds good and overall very tight. Thanks for your input. TL

07 610 16,000mi. OG cam chain, minor wear items, burns no oil, runs like a champ****************************************
