• Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

6 speed conversion...

I boycott listings like that. Putting Cr in it is keyword spamming. Just print out that listing go to the local dealer and ask if it fits what model you might have. What is going on with what looks like holes for an engaging dog right next to the drive sprocket? Did not care enough to put the shafts in relative position.

Boycott or not a 6 speed box is desirable, yes Less so without selecting drum an forks but still useable.
As for cr wr spam I see no issue with it as it saves me searching twice!

There are 5 people watching that item thinking that it will probably work for that conversion, probably misled by the listing title. The counter shaft splines are the tell that it is incorrect for the conversion.

my favorite is when sellers like listing the counter and main shafts in different ads. lame!

flashbacks? ive been there since 2000..buy and sell! with all the junk that rolls through there, some real jewels show up..i like selling some things too.
Oh, I agree. I have bought & sold lots of parts on there. I was talking about all the messages back & forth when I was looking for my 6speed gear sets......do you have more pics?...do you have better pics?....Can you show better pics of the dogs?...The dogs are the tabs on the sides of the gears...lol...etc. I had lots of correspondence with multiple sellers until I found the right deal for me.

I had a complete late 80's lower end 250 case with crank and cr gears. I punched out the rear mounting tube for the
Larger swing arm diameter bolt and pushed I the early 80 sleeves. I restored a 83 250cr five speed bike. She's in the state of Michigan ++.

Now I'd look for a complete lower WR case. But you need the shifter drum, forks, all the shafts and gears I buy them this way too. But inspect the gears closely for crystallizing from running on low oil. The pictures of gears missing areas on the teeth or gouged out spots be aware. You want a full perfect set.
