  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

We get screwed over big time when it comes to parts down here. Might be a business opportunity for you guys in America we Aussie's are in desperate need of a alternative as the part suppliers are literately robbing us here.

Seriously, crazy. Shipping is a major thing for us, but we already sell oem parts.

US KTM dealers used to sell parts to AUS buyers, so much so that KTM AUS had a hissy fit and now dealers worldwide aren't allowed to sell parts to overseas buyers.

Hopefully Husky doesn't follow suit, although it's easy enough to get around when the savings to be had are so vast.

You want to see silly prices and exchange rates mate? South Africa takes the cake! The ZAR is more than 10 to the USD at presnt

Just curious for those that have changed the TL, do you need to remove the engine to get the cover off?

I've got a copy of the manual here and it doesn't look like it. You might have to loosen the rear brake pedal to be able to get the clutch basket out and the cover off though.

Not only are the parts expensive, but they take weeks to arrive. Apparently this weeks reason is that the tracking computer in Italy has gone down.

I'll be ordering direct from the US in future from now on. This is the second time in a row I've had to wait for far too long for parts (5 months for an exhaust).
