  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

511 Fuel pump bad?

Muchmore

Husqvarna
AA Class
So tonight while riding I was chugging around in an abandon Sears parking lot and the low fuel light came on. I ran to the gas station filled up and still a low fuel light, shortly after it died a few times and now won't restart.

I just pulled it in the garage but I hear no fuel pump priming when I try to start.

Ok, good idea I'll pull it all out tomorrow. Very weird, low fuel light came on for 30 minutes then sputtering and no start. Weird.

When you get the pump out, hook it directly to the battery and test it. When my 2.5 year old pump went out, it just quit and never made another sound, even with direct battery power hooked to it.

Is it possible the fuel pump became so dislodged it is holding the gas float down causing a low fuel light?

i had similar problem on my '13 449 all it was a pinched fuel breather hose and the fuel light came on after 20min,make sure you have fuel in the secondary clear tank,if not theres your probem ,fuel will not flow through from main tank..

Thank you, this was my second thought or a plugged fuel filter but I don't know the flow pattern without taking it apart.

I did completely forget but my bike is under warranty! I totally forgot when I bought it I took out an extended warranty for 4 years!! I'll let you guys know what they find I dropped it off tonight.

So I stopped by the dealers to check on it and voila it started perfectly!
They charged the battery, test the electrical system and all was good?? Weirder ??

Pretty sure you have a bare wire/shorting wire somewhere that shifts to being ungrounded and then back to grounded.

Very possible a wire, I stopped by the dealership to check on it and it started and ran FINE for them :(
I will have to heat it up and see if it restarts but for now it runs fine I don't get it?
