  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

510 smr 06 metal pices in oil.

Hello, I have a 06 sm510r and the last time i change oil i saw somthing worry on the plugg. It was these 3 pices of metal, theh are noe big but so big that i worry about what they comes from. My guess is maybe a roller bearing or maybe something like that. I hope somebody here could help me figure out where they came from, it har bothers me in about 3 weeks since am traveld towork the day after...

Her is 2 pictures.
here is some picture.
They appear dark on one side, while on the other side, they look more bright. The e quite small really.
oil was more dark brown color, almost as perfectly normal to me.
To the plug was quite nice, only these small metal parts.

Aouch, nasty. What size are they? Do they fit together to one piece? Camchain tension? Any engine noise?

They're wery thiney, about half a cm long.
The Camchain tensioner it good. It works perfectly, No sounds nothing that alerts me that somthing is wrong...

These are 3 induvidual parts, they don't seems to belong togeter they just came from the same place. and if you look good you can se that it's a clean cut on the left side of all 3, looks like a hook or somthing like that...

I wounder if it could be from det sprag clutch.
But i don't think is from det gearbox since i dont think the are roller bearings in the gearbox, i hope and think my answer is under clutchcover.

And because of the size and shape it din't looks lika a gear, more lite it's suppose to hold something...

Since am a gentleman today I figured out that I should share my discovery with you guyes, maybe it could help someone else :P
as you can se the rindt on the secound picture is loose, the 3 metalparts are some kinda clips that should suppose to hold the ring to the gear in my hand. it's a clip in the gear that holds a bearing of some kinde.

(dont shoot me if am wrong)
And to the oil pump is running nice and smooth.

yeeeah, replaced it today. Buuuuut since my grilfriend saw that i would like to drive she should help me, she try to mounte the fork protector and i don't know how, but it seems like she brokes the forkleg, the crome part...

I hate my life at this moment... You know if you could separet the crome stanchioner from the part you take the wheelbolt trough ?

WTF? Broked the forkleg??!
The axle part is threaded onto the lower forkleg, small lockbolt inside towards wheel. But on my 125´s it was really stuck hard so I gave up trying to get it off. Find a better used?

Heeey. Sorry late reply.
Yeah, we used the wrong bolt. And thek craced the stancio. I separetet them, change the stancion.
Found a sparebike in my area.

It was a hell of a jobb to separete them and since my local dealer asked around 1000 usd for it had to find another option.
1000 buks i would spend on something more fun than a forkleg. A complete motor overhauling.
