• Husqvarna Motorcycles Made In Sweden - About 1988 and older

  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

510 1985 TE- a bit of a ride

Nice 4t the old gal sounds great. The run down the straights was awesome. I like the 4t too.

The video showed the snap and the speed. I never rode the 4t 510 husqvarna but the video came across as it being not your normal 4t ride of that era.

I feel like a parrot on your shoulder, I'm ducking the branches as they slap you. I think the video is awesome.

I rode a sister bike to this in 1984. it was slightly fettled by a seriously good tuner. I believe he dialled the cam and jetted it. it was seriously fast. much faster than this one. it had a top end like a 125, just as this bike signs off and wants you to up shift, his would loft the front wheel and run up another 4000 revs or so. it ate 600xrs in a straight line and 500 2/ were a match. he had a mate with a 500 ktm and they were always running drags and the big husky would match the kato then outrun him with just a bit more top speed.
Plan is to tear this down and check everything over and see If I can con him into some shed time.:D

check out the utube channel "riders in the scrub" there are a few more vids on there, mainly on the wr 400.

you have to keep the twin muffler setup at all cost. i dont care what style of silencer, they just have a great look on the 510

my favourite bit! I made new end caps to keep the totally original ones intact as almost all were sliced off from new due to there being quite restrictive;)
