  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

Husqvarna
A Class
I've been waiting around 5 months for a TC air box cover.
My UK dealer advises that they have had a few issues with whole orders not just certain parts.

Is anyone else experiencing the same?
Doesn't exactly inspire me to buy Husky again, if they can't look after existing customers why should I bother upgrading to the new Husky/ktm clone

Everyone is experiencing the delay due to the change over. They have not synchronized their Husqvarna parts with their KTM distribution yet.

I've purchased quite a few parts over past few weeks; plastics, radiator hoses, valve tappet, gasket kits etc. Halls had quite a bit of it in stock but didn't have to wait more than a couple of weeks for the stuff that they had to order in.

I ordered quite a few husky accessories when I ordered my new 449 in November '13. Bike arrived fine but no sign of the accessories and basically given up on them.

That said, my 310 x lite needed some starter and wiring loom work, and the parts arrived quickly.

The way it's been explained to me is that re the parts that are an integral part of the bike, they need to keep supplying for 10 years, but re the accessories they are under no such obligation, and aren't.

Whilst on this topic, apparently there is a firm in Italy that supply the parts for the older huskies, and they are assuming the supply for the parts for the newer bikes.

Same experience here. I placed a good size order through Hall's last month, some items were in stock and some items weren't but everything was at my door in less than 2 weeks.

Just fitted the airbox lid. There was quite a bit of oil in the old one and filter, no wonder it smokes at bit on initial start up  .

I've already got Akra pipe, map 3, iridium plug and stainless steel filter so wasn't expecting much difference.
WRONG.......... Whilst it's not quite as responsive/snappy, it seems to be much smoother and more pleasant to ride in traffic.
It also seems to pull from below 40mph in top which it wouldn't before.

I was surprised how loud the airbox is now, I can't hear the exhaust over the induction barp.
Is that normal for this mod?
Does this extra air in the airbox lean out the mixture too much?

Wow finally turned up!

Sounds like you have a supercharger under the hood now. Mine sounds like a constant whine.

It will be sucking in more air but theres nothing you can do about it with out running a pcv etc..

Yes eventually.... I think it might need the air screw adjusting slightly.
I quite like the sound but can't hear the exhaust.
I'm going to check tonight to see if the lid is sealed all the way around.

Three month wait for some plastics (upper fender was the hold up). My hope is this normalizes as parts availablity is my single biggest concern with the bike. Not because I think it is unreliable, but more for when I break something or wear something out. The box looked like this though, so hopefully this implies additional integration with the KTM network.husky box.JPG

From the looks of the box husqvarna is the only trademarked name, kind of funny I thought ktm might be trademarked as well.
