  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

449/511 Akro Evo Exhaust

Just wondering if anyone forked out the cash for this exhaust yet. If so, any feedback? I been looking for a stock TC titanium exhaust for a while now, guess they are really rare. Im about to buy the evo in a few weeks...thoughts?

Unless you just have to have an Evo line system, you can get a FMF titanium megabomb and 4.1rct which puts out more power for less $$. You might be able to later add a full carbon fiber shell and end cap. Parts are easy to get as well. Plus Zipty mods FMF for custom systems, so that's available too.

Have the full Ti EVO system, got it for a grand when the first batch hit Australia, 2nd batch cost $1800! Can't compare it to any other pipes as all 3 guys I know with aftermarket pipes have the EVO system :P

PS: It's LOUD, we get kicked off the tracks here for out-louding (my own term) every other bike out there lol Doesn't sound nearly as nice with the baffle in.

thanks for the reply guys. i might "have to have" the evo system lol. The titanium FMF is almost as much. Not really concerned about the noise level.

You are lucky not to have to worry about noise and other stuff. Here in Cornholafornia, the trail nazis wanna make sure its all legal and stock and then they shove a wire up your tailpipe.

THEN, they want to inspect your bike.

Haha, how true is that! They shoved a wooden dowel down my pipe at the gates to Gormon. Then inspected the bike on top of that.

Yep. they have been doing that in Gormon since I was a kid. The Rangers on bikes used to carry a folded up coat hangar and if your bike seemed too loud, they'd whip it out right there on the trail and give it to ya in front of your buddies and everything!
