Husqvarna
Pro Class
My son's (Andy) first adult race and the first on the new WR125. Almost pulled the holeshot; got beat by a wheel. Ended up 2nd in the 200C class and 3rd overall out of 67 bikes. And out of the 67 he was the only Husky. The 200C class started on the fifth row with each row 1 minute apart, so there was some bikes to work through or at least sneak to within the time adjustment. First place in 200C class took the overall. Andy ended up 45 seconds out of 2nd OA. He actually pitted for gas; which went well until I (dad) could not get the gas cap back on square. I was not aware, as I am now, of the process of lining up the cap before screwing it on. Hopefully this will go away with the larger tanks rumored to be coming. I think the whole gas stop thing did cost him the 2nd OA.
The event, Hillside Hare Scramble, was held August the 8th in upstate Pa. by the ECEA/Valley Forge Trail Riders club and had about a 22 minute lap time through some great terrain. The club did a great job, as usual, putting on the event in a virgin location a long way from 'home'.
This was kind-of, sort-of supposed to be a testing race to evaluate the changes made…
Walt's springs, suspension work by KB5 out of Lebanon Pa., misc. jetting changes and some other minor stuff. Knew he was capable but was not expecting the end results.
Needless to say he kind-of, sort-of likes the setup.
Thanks to the guys at Toy Tech for all the help…
We did get some lookers and talkers in the pits…
...before and after the race!
