  • Hi everyone,

As you all know, Coffee (Dean) passed away a couple of years ago. I am Dean's ex-wife's husband and happen to have spent my career in tech. Over the years, I occasionally helped Dean with various tech issues.

When he passed, I worked with his kids to gather the necessary credentials to keep this site running. Since then (and for however long they worked with Coffee), Woodschick and Dirtdame have been maintaining the site and covering the costs. Without their hard work and financial support, CafeHusky would have been lost.

Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working to migrate the site to a free cloud compute instance so that Woodschick and Dirtdame no longer have to fund it. At the same time, I’ve updated the site to a current version of XenForo (the discussion software it runs on). The previous version was outdated and no longer supported.

Unfortunately, the new software version doesn’t support importing the old site’s styles, so for now, you’ll see the XenForo default style. This may change over time.

Coffee didn’t document the work he did on the site, so I’ve been digging through the old setup to understand how everything was running. There may still be things I’ve missed. One known issue is that email functionality is not yet working on the new site, but I hope to resolve this over time.

Thanks for your patience and support!

3rd Fender eliminator

ascribner

Husqvarna
AA Class
I sold the first one I made, still did not like it sitting that far back on the fender.

The second one, very nicely mounts underneath the rear fender, but being able to read the plate from the rear of the bike is next to impossible. So scrapped that one as well (still have the mold, but I do not want yet another reason for a ticket while street-tarding)

Here is my 3rd eliminator. Yes, technically I can still get a ticket as the plate is between the axles, but this one is at least visible.

The reason I am posting?

I want to gauge the interest of the community to determine if I am going to make a one-off piece just for myself or make a mold of this so I can share. I need at least 15 parties that are interested and by interested that means a non-refundable down payment. If you cancel, you are out. If I cancel, I send back the deposit. I do not see myself making more than 20 of these, 15 min, 20 max. I just need to know if it is going to be worth my time to make a mold or not.

Here are pics of the "plug" (male mold) with the resin still a bit fresh from last night's build. This will have to the two bolt holes from the newer style rear fender. I am contemplating if it is worth the time to build the piece that would slide between the lower fender and the gas tank or not. I will most likely build that part and chemically bond them.
